Pet Taming Trouble

There are a few other tricks out that that a solo hunter can use, but they tend to be somewhat specialized. For example, a low level quest in the first troll 鈥渢own鈥?had a reward of sticky glue. I saved mine with my hunter in case I needed it for tough tames. It would basically give me two ice traps. Hunters with higher level engineering can make a net gun. Certain bandit NPCs would drop nets, but I think Blizzard nurfed that some time back. It was just another case of PvP balancing taking something away from PvE gaming. sigh
You basically have two choices:
1) Find a friend to help you. Another hunter can drop a second ice trap. A mage can sheep your pet to be. Or a druid could sleep it.
2) Just keep trying. Eventually the odds will work out in your favor. The knockdown will either miss or it simply won鈥檛 try its knockdown in the limited time left after the ice trap has expired and your tame takes effect.
-"Too many requests! Slow down!" Yes, thank you, I should take the time to savor the experience of purchasing 37 chicken eggs.
Calabar (50 Hunter) - Farli (27 Minstrel) - Raedan (21 Champion) - Lyndian (23 Guardian) - Bannik (21 Lore-Master)ive always had this trouble with taming pets with knockdown my hint is to put frezze trap down and put aspect of the monkey on to give urself a lil extra dodge. Some people says it doesnt work but i believe it does. The other hint is to carry healing potions with u so u can heal quickly and try again. usally second try ull get hope this helps.
Aegywnn-lvl 30 Hunter SolanaLvl 20/21-ish hunter trying to tame an enraged ravager for Gore 3, but the chump keeps stunning me and I have to start over. Of course, after he's beat me down on health.
I've tried the freeze trap, but it doesn't last long enough to get my tame on. Any tips for the hard to train pets? or should I just move on and find Gore 3 somewhere else?
